Anniversary On A Shoestring

Published by Cuelendar on

You can say happy anniversary to your spouse without spending your entire savings. Think on a more personal level and you will find just the right way to say I love you. If you are trying to let your spouse know how much you care but don’t have a huge budget for the project here are a few ways you can do that.

Homemade anniversary gifts show your undying love

Homemade gifts show that you are willing to take the time to do the work to express your undying love. Find what you are good at and use it to produce a gift that only you can create. If you are a wood worker, a jewellery box made especially for her can really light a fire in her heart. Make dinner for your spouse in a way you never have before. Choose a menu that is not on your normal foods list and go for it. Create a romantic atmosphere filled with candles, music and a terrific dessert and you will find the rewards in the end.

Take your spouse to the place where you met

Take your spouse to the place where you met. Whether it is the park, a restaurant, or even if it is at the grocery store. Go back to where it all started and present that person with a little token showing your love such as an engraved keychain or inexpensive bracelet.

Make your home a treasure hunt. Starting at your front door or lay out a plan to create a treasure hunt lead by roses, one for each clue. In the end have a wonderful gift awaiting your spouse such as an amazing cheesecake loaded with raspberries. Plan a romantic evening with just the two of you and a bottle of wine in front of the fireplace. You don’t have to have a big dinner spread to enjoy the evening.  Put together a terrific coupon book on your computer filled with different things.  (like foot massage, body massage, dinner cooked by you, a “no housework for you” coupon)

Perhaps you can do a role reversal for one day with your spouse. You could celebrate your anniversary by taking over your spouse’s chores and responsibilities that day such as Girl Scout meeting or mowing the lawn or carpool. Put together a scrap book of all of your past anniversaries. Even if there are no party photos, you can put things that remind you of that year’s anniversary such as a token from the trip you took that year or the restaurant that you ate at. Show you remember.

Taking the time to plan and execute a great anniversary is simply a matter of getting creative. If you put thought and effort into your gift, your spouse will appreciate it so much more. I love you does not have to come from a material item, it comes from the heart.
